"Dialogue" is the only way I would spell it (and the only option in my dictionary). But I may be old fashioned, too.

My techie husband says that "dialog" can be used technically, as in "A dialog box will open up..." However, he agrees that when talking about the conversation, "dialogue" shold be the only choice. :)

My Websters allowed "dialog" as another form of "dialogue," but as far as the OED is concerned, "dialog" doesn't exist.
